Action

At last the snow has been cleared from the ice runway and I’m sitting here in my hotel lobby waiting for my pick up to take me to the big Russian jet at Punta Arenas airport. And then it’s off to ALEs Union Glacier base camp for final gear fine tuning and to get my Antarctic legs again.

I’m feeling excitement, trepidation and nervous anticipation all mixed together, especially since heavy snow conditions at the start of Hercules Inlet are going to make the going tougher and slower than anticipated.

But soon I’ll be reporting from the ice, and on the real expedition part of the journey.

Thank you to those who have logged in and I hope you’re enjoying the site.

I’ll aim to send some special hellos with each posting…in no particular order.

Firstly big hugs and kisses to Nicole, Chloe, Harry and Mitchell.

Your love is king.
