Thunderstruck
Second day on skis dragging my sled and first time I got out my headphones to try and motivate myself and to continue through a 35 knot wind straight at my face. I got my iPhone out and listened for the next hour to Thunderstruck by ACDC. I accidentally pressed the repeat button when selecting my song and did not want to stop to fix it as it is some effort to do so, so listened to Thunderstruck 13 times…..it is still playing in my head!!!
Today was not too bad, I think I am roughly about 16 nautical miles from drop off, I slept 7.5 hours, had a bit of a sleep in as I only had 2 hours sleep the night before and took an easy day. I am not sure who put these hills in from the coast before getting up to the south pole plateau but I can tell you they hurt and when I find them, they will pay. Apart from that, things are going ok, will take a while to settle in and get used to all this but will keep in touch. Thanks to everyone who is following this and a special mention to Chloe’s teacher and class at school, thank you for your inspirational messages, I loved them.
PS I hope Richmond recruited well in the draft!
