South Pole solo
There will be times like these
Started the day in pretty good weather and went as long as I could. I had to call the day early as I did a ski tip.
Hopefully this is not too debilitating, I have done some repairs which I am hoping will hold together for the rest of the journey.
Then my stove didn’t work so I had to use my replacement one so I need to fix the problem ASAP. And my seat collapsed also, so I had to sew this up. It has been a frustrating day of repairs.
The snow was pretty heavy at different times but lots of it, still slow in my distance covered, I covered 9.2 nautical miles (17km).
Weather conditions are not too bad, pretty cold tonight but fine in the tent and hoping I have a much better day tomorrow.
Big hello to the Magnets and special thanks to Sam and Dilion for their music which got me through some heavy steps today.

Georgie, good days work mate. bit of a handyman aren’t you?
With the practice you are getting imagine the things you’ll able to achieve around the house when you get back!!
Great effort with the repairs mate, especially considering we have all seen you step aside and let others carry out certain repairs – a couple of flat tyres during that ride near Frankston for example when Robbie’s mate took over changing your tubes. Good luck with it all, great to see you making the best of some shitty situations. Go well and stay safe.
Sounds as though you’ve had some early challenges to test your resolve. Needless to say, Resolve = 1, Challenges yet to score!
Remember, fair weather does not create good sailors. (That said, we are all praying for fairer skies, lesser winds and gear that remains intact). Onwards my friend!!
Georgie, We have a quiet coffee the other day…and no mention of what you are up to!! Wow and good luck!! Will follow your journey and pass on positive energy!
Get the repairs out of the way early and no more problems for the rest of the journey! What you’re doing is amazing.
