South Pole solo
Frustrated
Where am I: South 80 35.762 West 20 11.088 Distance from Camp 3 is 11.1 nautical miles (not happy!!!).
Time: 8 hours 45minutes plus some breaks
Weather: a lot colder, 10 knot winds in my face all day and freezing
I have also climbed to around 786 metres in elevation from being dropped off at Hercules Inlet over the last five days. There is so much sastrugi and soft snow all around. Feels like I am going nowhere fast as my sled gets stuck in the soft snow drift and it takes a huge amount of energy to drag it out.
The massive snow dump before I arrived (biggest in the last ten years) has really hampered my progress; will sleep on it and see what tomorrow brings. I will keep on walking until things get better.
Durran Durran, “Planet Earth” is the song of the day. Made me think about planet earth and where I was, in the middle of it on this massive continent.
Hello’s to Sandra, Simon, Russell and Maria at Portfolio Planners and my special customers who are following my (slow) progress, thanks for your support. Also thank you for everyone’s comments, they are being read out to me daily by Sandra or Nicole and offer me great inspiration.
Finally happy birthday Greig Eime.

And again good luck!!
I am impressed by your use of technology and being able to track you.
I hope the weather improves as dragging a sled should then improve.
