Try

Camp:  South 80 57.913 West 80 02.462
Distance:  10.3 nautical miles (19.07km)
Time:   8.5 long hours
Weather:  nice and crisp blue skies and wind moderate all day at 5 knots
Snow:  terrain is crap

Tired today as the wind was about 35 knots during the night and the tent flapped very vigorously and noisily.  Then the first three hours were really tough and super slow due to soft snow and I felt very tired but I literally gritted my teeth and kept going  The terrain stayed tough all day and I didn’t get far in my journey at all.

Have decided to not get too stressed about the slow progress and I am storing away a bit of food each day from my daily rations just in case the trip takes longer than my planned 45 days (don’t worry mum and dad, I won’t run out of food.)

Thanks Tom and Lachie for your music today.

Delta Goodrem “Born to Try” was my song today … you should have heard my version on the snow ….. thank goodness no one else could hear!!

Go Glitterbugs tonight at basketball and cheerios to everyone at Elsternwick Primary School.  It was great to hear many of you when Nicole took her phone to Chloe at school for me to talk to her (hello little girl, I miss you).  Thanks kids for your enthusiasm and motivation.

Georgie you never cease to amaze. I ran up 3 flights of stairs today and it took my 5 minutes to recover! I should have gritted my teeth.

    Keep punching.

Just as well there are no polar bears at south pole. If one got in your way I am sure he would end end up worse for the experience. Hold fast mate.

Georgie, Well done mate 1st week is up and it is generally always a tough one, blowing out all the cobwebs and getting your body into the groove.
Keep focused and if you need a song to motivate you, you might remember the Black Magnets Theme Song …. Na Na Na ………..It just kept going !!!
